Our Story

Our journey growing cannabis started when we became guerrilla growers in 2006. We would hike to our hidden gardens deep in the high alpine forests of Northern New Mexico, often carrying frame backpacks loaded down with seedlings, amendments, and water. We quickly learned that growing at high elevation requires early finishing genetics, but most of the early finishing strains available at that time were low quality Ruderalis hybrids.  We started making our own crosses to produce large amounts of quality Indica dominant seed that was ready to harvest by late September. We were successful in this attempt by using local genetics crossed with Sensi Star from Sensi Seeds and Sweet Purple from Paradise Seeds. The success and adventure gained from these first projects sparked a serious passion for breeding and innovation. Pheno hunting became the most enjoyable aspect of the growing process for us. We are so excited to share our passion for the diversity of this amazing plant with you.

Core Values

We dedicate all of our gardens to the production and testing of our varieties. Advancing the quality, vigor, and diversity of our genetic base is our sole focus. Bean patch seeds are cultivated by myself and my queen bean with high vibrations and positive intentions.

Present Days

Bean Patch Seeds are born and bred on a working homestead in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of Southern Colorado at almost 8,000ft above sea level. Roughly 100 years ago, this area of Colorado was pioneered and mined for limestone. At the base of these steep mountains of dense forest and large boulders lies a fertile valley bottom that supported a small mining community, home to about 200 people for 25 years. When we started building this homestead a few years back, we spoke with an old timer that shared with us that the miners had once called our land the bean patch. Little did we know when we came here that our land was the chosen place to grow the food needed to sustain the small mining community in this harsh climate. We are incredibly blessed to be able to connect ourselves with this place and grow our own medicine and food after an almost 100 year period of this land sitting idle.
